7 Best Self-Love Practices




How do you define self love? Self love for me is protecting myself & putting my own happiness & well-being above anyone or anything else. Love is everything, & too often we create barriers to feeling the vibration of love within ourselves.


I wanted to share a few things that I do to practice self-love, especially during times of anxiety + stress.


+Smile at yourself in the mirror. Look deeply into your eyes for one full minute & remember that LOVE is the true essence of your being. I first did this during my yoga teacher training & it’s one of the most awkward & rewarding things you’ll ever do.


+Take a break. Go outside. Get in tune with nature. Put away your phone & reset & ground yourself.


+Hug yourself. Wrap your arms around your shoulders & squeeze. You hug other people, why not hug yourself?


+Meditate first thing in the morning & right before bed. Connect with yourself, focus on your breath.


+Forgive. If you’re angry with someone or at something, let it go. Release it by writing it down then burning it.


+Ask your body what it needs & give it what it’s asking for - more sleep, a healthy meal, a nice walk?


+Practice gratitude. Write down 3 things your grateful for & come back to them throughout the day.


Loving yourself is the greatest gift you can give the world. Loving yourself is also one of the best things you can do for your health.
